ABOUT THE JRB FOUNDATION
James, Jame (to those of us who go back to when he was young), was our beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, cousin, friend, and comrade who was amazing, wonderful, funny, mischievous, loyal and loved. He joined the Army after graduating from Hardin-Simmons University, in 2004. He deployed twice to Iraq and served our country for 7 years. Upon returning home from his second deployment, he was diagnosed with PTSD and suffered tremendously from its effects. He was never the same care-free, unburdened person again. James went to be with his/our Heavenly Father on August 1st, 2016. The James R. Barrett Foundation was started in May 2017 to provide resources and education to those who struggle with PTSD and to those who love someone who has this struggle. It is our family's wish, our foundation's goal, to help those who struggle with the effects of PTSD and the families who hurt for them as well. Our goal is to see the number of veterans who die every day (22 on average) to PTSD to drop considerably and then to zero. If you served with James, are also a veteran, or are currently serving... please know you are not alone, there is help and we will fight for you and with you.

On behalf of the Barrett / McMillon family, thank you for your continued, unwavering support these last 10 years. None of this would be possible without you. It is an honor to share Jame's life with you, may he always live on in our hearts.
